Munich/Lyon: Ivica Olic scored in injury time Tuesday to give Bayern Munich a 2-1 win over Manchester United in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals.
Franck Ribery equalised in the 77th minute with a free kick that deflected off Wayne Rooney and beat goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, before Olic dispossessed Evra in the area and feinted to beat Van der Sar with a side-footed shot.
Rooney's second-minute away goal means United could still advance to the semifinals for a fourth straight year with a 1-0 win in the return match on April 7.
But Rooney limped off with what appeared to be an ankle injury, just over 10 weeks before England's opening World Cup match.
United scored in injury time to beat Bayern 2-1 in the 1999 final.
The England striker put United ahead in the second minute with his 35th goal of the season, but Bayern went ahead in injury time before Rooney was hurt in a challenge with Mario Gomez.
The Germany striker trod on Rooney's right foot and Rooney immediately signalled to the United bench that he had to come off the field.
The injury comes just over 10 weeks before England's opening World Cup match on June 12 against United States.
Rooney broke a metatarsal bone in his foot in the buildup to the 2006 World Cup and his lack of fitness was cited as one of the reasons for England's quarterfinal exit.
In another fixture, two goals from Lisandro Lopez, defensive blunders by Bordeaux and a fantastic save by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris helped Lyon secure a 3-1 victory in the first leg.
Lopez put Lyon ahead in the 10th minute before Morocco striker Marouane Chamakh equalised for Bordeaux four minutes later with a header.
Brazilian winger Michel Bastos made it 2-1 from a tight angle in the 32nd.
Lopez sealed the victory in the 77th with a penalty, sending goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso the wrong way.
