Liverpool have reportedly agreed a £25.7 million deal to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Shakhtar Donetsk, according to the Russian newspaper Sport Express.
The news was reportedly first aired on Armenian television programme Extra Time on Friday, where it was announced that Mkhitaryan had agreed terms with a foreign club over a transfer.
However, Sport Express went on to report that Ukraine's top goalscorer will fly to Merseyside for a medical soon and sign on the dotted line. The attacking midfielder scored 25 goals for Shakhtar last season.
With a reported fee of approximately £25.7m, the 24-year-old will be Liverpool's second most expensive signing in history, after Andy Carroll was signed in January 2011 for a whopping £35 million from Newcastle United.
