New Delhi: AC Milan will be looking to end Shakhtar Donetsk's 100 per cent record in Champions League Group D when the two teams meet at San Siro on Wednesday night.

Milan were stunned 1-0 by lowly Empoli in Serie A at the weekend, and will need to put in a much better performance against the in-form Ukrainian side.

But Milan will be without their talismanic playmaker Kaka - doubtful after an injury. Goalkeeper Dida is also suspended with a one-match ban.

The one bright spot for Milan is that their 39-year-old captain Paolo Maldini is back after a knee surgery.

Shakhtar Donetsk are making their fourth appearance in the Champions League and all they need is a draw against Milan to put them in the knockout stages for the first time.

And following the superb show by the English clubs in their Champions League matches on Tuesday night, Chelsea would be hoping to continue in the same vein.

They face Bundesliga side Schalke at Stamford Bridge in a Group B encounter.

Chelsea lead the Group with four points but they will be without injured defenders John Terry and Ashley Cole.

Striker Didier Drogba is expected to start despite his troublesome knee injury. Like Chelsea.

Schalke, too, have also been hit by injuries. Among those missing will be influential Germany midfielder Christian Pander.

Chelsea won their last Champions League match against Valencia and will look to continue from there.

In Group A, Liverpool meet Besiktas in Istanbul - at the same ground where they beat AC Milan in the 2005 Champions League final.

After picking up one point from their first two games, the English side are desperate for a win that would put their campaign back on track.

It could be the perfect time to play Besiktas, who have lost both of their matches in this year's competition and are without a win in the Champions League in almost four years.

But Liverpool's chances won't be helped by the absence of striker Fernando Torres, who is still suffering from a thigh injury.

In the other matches, Marseille taken on Porto in Group A, while in Group B Rosenborg play Valencia. There are two matches in Group D where Bremen play Lazio and Real Madrid take on Olympiacos.

Benfica meet Celtic in a Group D match.
