Real Madrid scraped past an effervescent RB Leipzig side in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu on Thursday. While there was not much to break down from the on-field happenings, one particular moment involving Jude Bellingham has gone viral on social media. Following the match, the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder was interviewed by Amazon Prime presenter Alessia Tarquinio. She had previously spoken to Bellingham following Real Madrid’s group stage win away at Napoli earlier this season. “I told him to talk to my son who sometimes doesn’t behave well,” Tarquino explained following her interview with the Englishman. “Be kind and good to your mother, mothers are important to us,” Bellingham had replied.
The pair spoke once again following Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw against RB Leipzig in the second leg of their round of 16 tie. The interview, it turned out, left Jude Bellingham stunned. The duo started the interview in English before turning to Spanish. Alessia Tarquino brought up the topic of her son not focusing on his academics, after which Bellingham pointed towards the camera and advised her son to obey her mother.
The interview then took a bizarre turn as Alessia Tarquino added: “I have one last question for you… do you want to come home with me?”
“Steady,” a visibly stunned and wide-eyed Jude Bellingham responded.

The studio was heard telling Alessia Tarquinio, as per The Sun, “Alessia, pay attention to the things you say.” She then clarified by saying, “You are my perfect son.”
Coming back to on-field developments, Bellingham was once again in the thick of the action against RB Leipzig. The 20-year-old continued his stunning start to life at Real Madrid by setting up Vinicius Junior with an exquisite assist in the second half, which saw Real Madrid double their lead on aggregate. RB Leipzig’s Willi Orban pulled one back just minutes later to make for a nervy final quarter of the game for the 14-time European champions in their fortress.
It was only Bellingham’s second game after returning from injury. He took part in the 2-2 draw against Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium, which saw him score a header in the final play of the game. The referee, Gil Manzano, blew the full-time whistle just as Bellingham made contact with the ball.
This has been an excellent debut season for Bellingham, who has already equalled former greats like David Beckham and Laurie Cunningham to score the most goals by an Englishman while playing for Real Madrid. Bellingham has 20 goals from 31 games and is currently leading the goal-scoring charts in Spain (16 goals in 22 games).
