Injured Lampard a major doubt for Euros
The news comes just days after Manchester City man Gareth Barry was ruled out of the championships.

London: England midfielder Frank Lampard could be ruled out of Euro 2012 after pulling up with a thigh injury during a training session on Wednesday. The 33-year-old was handed the No.8 shirt for the tournament on Tuesday but is now a doubt as the Three Lions medical team assess the severity of the injury.

The news comes just days after Manchester City man Gareth Barry was ruled out of the championships with an abdominal tear.

Liverpool's Jordan Henderson is currently on standby having missed out on making the final 23 when Hodgson chose to take defender Phil Jagielka upon news of Barry's injury.

The Reds midfielder has just two senior international caps and could be set to feature in his first tournament at that level with the national team.

Lampard, meanwhile, has 90 caps for the Three Lions and has scored 23 times, making him a potentially huge miss ahead of the trip to Poland and Ukraine in what could be his last appearance at a major international tournament.

The Chelsea midfielder will have a scan on his injury on Wednesday, after which a decision will be made on his Euros participation.
