New Delhi: Mohun Bagan and Sporting Club de Goa, the two finalists of the 28th Peerless Federation Cup, are facing an injury crisis ahead of the all-important game on Sunday.
Bagan, the 11-time champions, will miss Lalampuiya who who is ruled out after getting a second bookable offence during the semi-final against Dempo.
But Bagan have most of their problems in the defence, with Brazlian Eduardo sidelined with a hamstring injury, Sanjiv Maria too cooling his heels and inspirational midfielder Mehtab Hossain too carrying an injury. The latter two however, are expected to make the final.
Baichung Bhutia, Bagan's most prized possession up front who scored a double at the semis, will play despite carrying a groin injury. Jose Ramirez Barreto would be having a more responsible role to play combining with Bhutia.
Sporting on the other hand have their problems arising right from the goalkeeper's spot, with first choice Felix D'Souza out injured. Jo Rodrigues, Nicolau Borges and Wilton Gomes are also injured and would miss the match.
Looking for their first ever title, Sporting would pin their hopes on another
fine performance from their lethal striker Dudu Omagbemi and his companion Ernest Jeremiah.
