UPSC Prelims Result 2024: Name-wise Results Declared at upsc.gov.in, Steps to Check
All the candidates who took the preliminary examination can check the name list via the UPSC's official website, upsc.gov.in.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued the name list of candidates who have qualified for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSE) 2024. The authority declared the UPSC Prelims 2024 results on July 1, however, the name list was issued on July 19. All the candidates who took the preliminary examination can check the name list via the UPSC’s official website, upsc.gov.in.

The official notification reads, “In continuation of the press note dated 01/07/2024 declaring the roll number wise result of the Civil Services (preliminary) examination, 2024 held on 16/06/2024, the name and roll number wise result of the candidates who have qualified for admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2024, is as under:”

The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2024 was administered on June 16 at various centers across the country. The exam was held in two shifts for General Studies Paper 1 and Paper 2, with a total of 400 marks. The question paper contained objective-type questions with four options each.

How to check the UPSC Prelims Name list?

Step 1: Navigate to the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.

Step 2: Upon reaching the homepage, look for the link that reads, “Written Results (with name): Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam, 2024” and click on it.

Step 3: A new PDF file will appear on your screen.

Step 4: Check your result carefully.

Step 5: Download and take a printout of the name list for future reference.

The UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2024 Name List includes details such as the candidate’s name and roll number.

This year, around 13.4 lakh students applied for the UPSC Prelims 2024 exam. Out of these, 14, 627 were declared qualified for the UPSC Mains 2024 exam.

According to the official notification, qualified candidates have to appear for the Mains examination which is scheduled to be held on September 20. Those who qualify the Mains exam will have to appear for the Interview round.

The UPSC Civil Services 2024 exam aims to fill 1056 vacant positions in central government services and departments. This comprises the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Police Service (IPS) and the Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Of the total vacancies, 40 are allocated for People with Benchmark Disability Category.
