The CA Final November 2023 results were made public on Tuesday by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Jaipur’s Rishi Malhotra, who scored 590 points (73.75 per cent), secured the third rank. He achieved this inspiring and impressive position on his first attempt itself. Rishi has shared this position with another CA topper Tikendra Kumar Singhal from Jaipur, which means that Rishi and Tikendra jointly stood at third place.
A number of tragedies befell Rishi during his preparation for the CA examinations. He started his preparation in 2019 and the next year, when COVID-19 struck, three of his family members succumbed to the pandemic. His father, grandfather, and grandmother all passed away within a week.
This occurred during his articleship at the Delhi office of E&Y. Everything transpired so fast that he had to come back from Delhi to Jaipur and quit the E&Y office. He then finished his internship in Jaipur and is currently employed by the same business.
According to the Indian Express, 22-year-old Rishi Malhotra himself got infected in the second wave of the Covid pandemic, due to which he had to be admitted to the hospital. In 2019, he had thought of taking admission to any of the top 3 colleges in Delhi. But since he could not succeed in this, he decided to pursue Chartered Accountancy.
Rishi Malhotra’s mother currently works as a director in the pension office of the Rajasthan government. His sisters work at Siemens AG (Pune) and Dell Inc. (Bangalore). Rishi got full cooperation and support from his mother and sisters. In preparing his notes, Rishi reportedly turned to ICAI study materials. Furthermore, he believes that preparation through review and mock exams is crucial for success in the CA finals. He revised the test series roughly twenty times and solved it four to five times.
