The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has released the notification for recruiting Forest Range Officers (FRO) 2024. The Commission is looking to fill 170 Forest Range Officers positions. According to the notice, the application process will start today, July 29, and will continue till August 10. Those interested can apply for the Forest Range Officer posts via the official website at jpsc.gov.in.
According to the recruitment notice, the preliminary exam for the Forest Range Officer post is likely to take place on August 18. The exam will be conducted in a single shift that is from 10 am to noon.
JPSC FRO Recruitment 2024: Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit: The age limit to apply for the Forest Range Officer post is 21 to 35 years as of August 1, 2024. Additionally, age relaxation is available for reserved categories.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in subjects like Agriculture, Forestry, Botany, and Environmental Science or an Engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from a recognised university.

Step 2: Complete the registration by providing basic details to generate login credentials.
Step 3: After logging in, fill out the Forest Range Officers application form.
Step 4: Upload the scanned copies of your necessary documents.
Step 5: Pay the application fee and submit the form.

The application fee for General, EBC, BC, and EWS is Rs 600. Whereas for the SC, and ST, it is Rs 150.
JPSC FRO Recruitment 2024: Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based on their performance in written examinations, physical measurements, and interviews. The selection process for the JPSC Forest Range Officer recruitment includes the following stages:
Preliminary examination: It consists of two objective-type questions and each paper is worth 200 marks with no negative marking.
Main examination: It consists of six descriptive papers covering General Hindi and English Language and Literature, Social Science, Indian Constitution and Polity, Economy and General Science. The total marks of it are 1050.
Interview round: After qualifying the examinations, then comes the interview process. It evaluates the candidate’s personality and knowledge and it is carrying 100 marks.
Document verification: If a candidate can pass all the examinations, he or she needs to verify their documents like educational certificates, identity proofs, and other relevant information.
