A day after the National Testing Agency (NTA) released the dates, pattern of examination and other important information regarding the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021, the notification was withdrawn. The JEE Mains 2021 notification has been taken off the official website of NTA at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The notification stated that the JEE Main exams 2021 will be held in multiple batches in successive months, starting from February to May in the coming year. It also said that this time, there would be optional questions in all three subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics – keeping in view the reduced syllabus across different boards owing to the disruption in usual curriculum due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As per the JEE Main exams 2021 notification, students would be allowed to attempt any 75 questions out of the total 90, which translates to 25 questions out of 30 in each section.
The revised JEE Main exams 2021 notification is likely to be published soon, following Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal’s announcement regarding the same in the evening today. In a tweet, Pokhriyal said that he would announce the decisions taken by the NTA regarding the JEE Main 2021 at 6 pm through a live interaction on his official Twitter page.
“Thank you all for sharing your constructive suggestions regarding JEE (Main) exams. We have got your suggestions examined. I will be announcing the schedule, number of times the exam will be held at 6 PM today,” Pokhriyal tweeted along with the video message.

He had noted several requests and suggestions from the participants of the interaction with regards to the syllabus and dates of the competitive exams to be held next year. He had said that the pattern of the question paper would be tweaked, which was seen in the withdrawn NTA notification.
The education minister had also said that the competitive exams would be conducted in several regional languages including Hindi, Bengali, Odia, Gujarati, Assamese, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Urdu and Punjabi.
