Starting July 2021, the United Kingdom (UK) will offer two-year post-study work visa to Indian students on completion of course. This can extend to three years for doctoral courses. Students can work or look for work in UK after their course during this time. The British High Commissioner to India, Alex Ellis informed through a tweet. He also informed that UK has granted 42 per cent more student visas to Indians last year.
Ellis wrote on Twitter, “Great news for ???????? students – today we can confirm the new Graduate route will open on 1 July 2021. This post-study work route will allow eligible Indian students 2 years (or 3 if you are doctoral) to work, or look for work in ???????? after successfully completing your course. (sic)”

Last year, many students had deferred their study abroad plans due to the travel restrictions imposed to curb the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the number of applications was expected to go up and the post-study work option might be an attractive to Indian students to consider UK as their study destination.
