SSR Medical Assistant trainee will receive a salary of Rs 14,600 per month.

The Indian Navy has announced the recruitment for the position of Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) Medical Assistant. This opportunity is open to unmarried candidates who have completed their 12th grade education. The application process will begin on September 7 and the last date to apply is September 17. Interested candidates can apply online through the official Navy website at joinindiannavy.gov.in. To be eligible for this recruitment, candidates must have passed their 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects. They need to have scored a minimum of 50 percent overall, with at least 40 percent in each of these subjects. The candidates must have been born between November 1, 2003 and April 30, 2007.

Physical Standards for SSR Medical Assistant

Candidates must meet certain physical standards to qualify. The minimum required height is 157 centimetres. Their chest should expand by at least 5 centimetres.

Physical Fitness Test

The recruitment process includes a physical fitness test. Candidates will be required to:

Run 1.6 kilometres within 6 minutes and 30 seconds.

Perform 20 sit-ups.

Do 15 pushups.

Complete 15 bent-knee sit-ups.

Salary and Allowances

During the training period, SSR Medical Assistants will receive a salary of Rs 14,600 per month. After the training, they will be placed in the Defense Pay Matrix Level-3, with a salary ranging from Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100. In addition to the basic salary, they will receive a Military Service Pay of Rs 5,200 per month, along with other allowances.

The role offers opportunities for promotion up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I. Throughout the training and service, sailors will be provided with uniforms, reading materials, food and living quarters.

Selection Process

The selection process begins with shortlisting candidates based on their 12th-grade marks. Those who are shortlisted will then undergo a physical fitness test, a written exam and a medical examination. Successful candidates will be trained and then placed into service.
