IMA Passing Out Parade: Lieutenant Praveen Singh Kadre Gets Sword Of Honour
A total of 394 officer cadets took part in the IMA's passing out parade, which included 154 officers from the regular course.

The Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, organised the passing out parade on June 8. It announced the names of the cadets who successfully became army officers after receiving military training. Many cadets received special awards during the parade. The names of the best cadets are announced in front of other cadets and their families. Recently, a son from the land of Uttar Pradesh won the title of the best cadet in the IMA.

A total of 394 officer cadets took part in the passing out parade, which included 154 officers from the regular course, 154 cadets from the technical graduate course, and 39 officers from foreign countries.

Praveen Singh Karde, from Agra, received the title of best cadet of the batch. Along with that, he was awarded a gold medal and the prestigious Sword of Honour. He crossed the final steps in the passing-out parade of the Indian Military Academy. Praveen Singh is the son of a businessman, and his mother is a homemaker. As per Praveen, he has always aspired to join the army since his childhood days. His family played a pivotal role in this huge achievement. They thoroughly supported him in his quest. According to the cadet, he studied from class 6 to class 12 at Rashtriya Military School in Dholpur.

Praveen Singh Karde said, “I made my parents very proud today because it was their hard work since childhood. They are living without me. When I was 11 years old, I was staying away from them. Apart from my parents, I am very thankful to my teachers and instructors. I joined the schools in NDA and IMA to reach where I am today.”

Talking about his parents and teachers, Praveen mentioned, “I am very proud of my parents, my teachers and instructors. And especially, I am getting commissioned into 3 Sikla Infantry. Sikla has a very rich regimental history. They are in the Indian Army, (gave) 3 Chiefs. And I am proud to be a part of the rd Sikh Light Infantry.”

After three years in NDA, he enrolled to IMA. When asked about advice for the future generation, Lieutenant Praveen Singh said, “There is nothing greater than wearing stars on your shoulders. If you want to achieve this, you will have to work hard.”
