Gujarat Titans star bowler Rashid Khan had some fun with his Afghanistan teammate Noor Ahmad aboard a flight. The Gujarat Titans arrived in the national capital for their match against the Delhi Capitals yesterday. During their travel, Rashid decided to play a hilarious joke while Noor was sleeping. The star all-rounder slowly rubbed his bracelet on Noor’s face to wake him up. The video of the hilarious sequence was uploaded by the franchise on Instagram. In the video, Rashid said, “Hum khelne ke liye aaye hain, yeh sone ke liye aaya hai [We have come to play, he has come to sleep].” Noor was left smiling at the joke before covering his face with a cloth and going back to sleep.
The Afghan duo of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad constitutes a major portion of the Gujarat Titans bowling unit. Rashid made his debut in the T20 extravaganza in 2017 playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the first five seasons. He was then snapped by Gujarat Titans in 2022, the same year when he won his first IPL trophy. He has consistently performed in the franchise tournament accumulating 147 wickets in 117 matches. Rashid’s best season came last year when he scalped 27 wickets while reaching the final. He endured a slow start to the ongoing campaign but made an impressive recovery to pick up eight wickets so far this season.
As for Noor Ahmad, the youngster has played only his first IPL season in 2023. Despite his lack of experience, the Afghan international impressed in the 13 games he played by bagging 16 wickets. He is off to a good start this season with five wickets in his six matches.

The Afghan duo will next be seen competing against Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals. The match will be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday. The Gujarat Titans are not having the best of campaigns with four wins in eight matches. They won their previous game against the Punjab Kings by three wickets and will be looking to add a consecutive second next.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals are having a poor run in IPL 2024 with three wins in eight matches. They lost their previous game to the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 67 runs and will be looking to get back to winning ways against the Shubman Gill-led side.
