WATCH: Jasprit Bumrah Rattles Ollie Pope's Stumps With a Toe-crushing Yorker

Premier India paceman Jasprit Bumrah produced a lethal toe-crushing yorker to rattle Ollie Pope’s stumps on Day 2 of the second Test match at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. Bumrah, who is the leader of the Indian pace attack, once again showed his class and proved his mettle on a surface where there was not much assistance for the fast bowlers.

It was the fifth ball of the 28 over and when Bumrah got rid of Pope who played a match-winning knock for England in Hyderabad. Pope was also well set in Vizag as he played 54 balls before facing the lethal yorker from Bumrah which rattled his stumps.

Meanwhile, in the 26th over Bumrah produced a brilliant over to get rid of  Root with a brilliant set-up with his sensational in-swingers and out-swingers. The Indian paceman got the better of Root with a delivery which moved away from Root to force an edge from his bat.

England were 155 for four at tea in reply to India’s first innings total of 396 all out on the second day of the second Test here on Saturday.

Jonny Bairstow (24) and Ben Stokes (5) were at the crease during the break.

Zak Crawley made a 78-ball 76, studded with 11 fours and two sixes, to give England a good start.

But Jasprit Bumrah (2/27) snapped two wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav (1/30) and Axar Patel (1/24) accounted for one each to leave the visitors in a spot of bother.

Earlier, Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal hit his first Test double century to guide India to 396 all out but England openers came out attacking on day two of the second Test on Saturday.

The tourists reached 32-0 at lunch with Zak Crawley, on 15, and the left-handed Ben Duckett, on 17, hitting six boundaries between them in Visakhapatnam.

England, who lead the five-match series 1-0, trail the hosts by 364 runs.

Left-hander Jaiswal resumed on 179 and smashed debutant spinner Shoaib Bashir for a six and four to get past 200 in the opening session. Veteran pace bowler James Anderson finally got Jaiswal out for his third wicket.
