Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan has been a regular attendee in the stands to watch his side play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season. Pictures and videos of SRK rooting for KKR at the venue and giving pep talks to the players have been going viral on social media.
The superstar was present at the Eden Gardens to witness his side’s fixture against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday.
His outing, however, turned out to be a heartbreaking one as KKR suffered a two-wicket defeat at the hands of RR. Jos Buttler scored an epic ton to help his side successfully chase a mammoth target of 224.
Following the contest, Shah Rukh was seen hugging Buttler.
When asked to pick a Bollywood actor who would play his biopic, Buttler named Shah Rukh Khan instantly.
In a post shared by RR, Trent Boult can be heard asking, “One Bollywood actor who would play your biopic?”
Buttler responded by saying, “Shah Rukh Khan.”
Boult supported Buttler’s choice saying, “Yeah, we love Shah Rukh.”

Shah Rukh and Buttler shared a heartwarming moment following the conclusion of the IPL 2024 contest between KKR and RR.
In a now-viral video, Shah Rukh can be seen asking Buttler to remain seated as he approached the England captain following the latter’s century against KKR.
Buttler still got up and shook Shah Rukh’s hand.
Having missed the game against Punjab Kings due to fitness concerns, Buttler was determined to produce an impressive show against KKR and he did exactly that in Kolkata. He single-handedly pulled off the biggest chase in IPL history with an unbeaten 107 off 60 balls – 7th of his IPL career.
Chasing a 224-run target, RR scripted a thrilling victory on the final ball of the game. Buttler is now one hundred away from equalling Virat Kohli’s record for the most number of tons in IPL.
The two-wicket win against KKR helped RR in winning two games on the trot. The Sanju Samson-led side are now placed atop the IPL points table.
