'It Can't Get Bigger Than That': KKR's Mentor Gautam Gambhir Delivers Massive Praise to MS Dhoni Ahead of CSK vs KKR - WATCH
Gautam Gambhir delivered massive praise to his former skipper, MS Dhoni as KKR travel to Chennai to take on CSK in their fourth fixture of IPL 2024.

Ahead of the clash between two iconic franchises in the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders, the KKR mentor, Gautam Gambhir praised the former CSK skipper and even made a bold claim which might surprise a few fans.

In a video interview uploaded by Star Sports, Gambhir suggested that Dhoni’s achievements could remain unmatched with the former Indian captain having won it all as the skipper for the Indian team.

Gambhir lauded the former Indian skipper and even touted him as arguably the best captain the nation will ever produce. Dhoni has led the side to three ICC trophies including the T20 World Cup in 2007, ODI World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013.

Gambhir highlighted,” MS is probably the most successful captain India will ever have. I don’t think anyone could ever reach that level. Winning three ICC trophies. People can win overseas, can win as many Test matches, probably three ICC trophies, it can’t get bigger than that”.

It was under Dhoni’s leadership that India was able to secure the ODI World Cup in 2011 and Gambhir also had a key role to play in the finals as he scored a crucial 97 off 122 deliveries to put India in front.

Gambhir concluded by saying that you can never write off the five-time champions until the final run is scored. He said,” To win against Chennai, until the last run is scored they will not give up. Sometimes when you are close to the win you end up giving but not with MS”.

On Monday, the two will meet as KKR travels to Tamil Nadu to take on the CSK at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. Gambhir’s side has had a fine start to the tournament having been unbeaten in the three games they have played so far. However, CSK have historically been dominant at home and Gambhir’s experience will come to play as KKR look to make it four wins in as many games to go top of the table.
