India will face New Zealand in the first Test of the three-match series from Wednesday (October 16) onwards at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The hosts will be high on confidence after getting the better of Bangladesh in a two-match series played last month, and they would like to maintain the same show against the Tom Latham-led side as well.
The Kiwis, on the other hand, are coming into the series after losing their last assignment against Sri Lanka with a scoreline of 0-2 in September 2024.
The Black Caps will be eager to come up with a big show against India and keep alive its hopes of qualifying for the WTC 2025 final next year. They will, however, miss the services of star batter and former captain Kane Williamson in the series opener.
