'If I Go To Auction, Will I Be Sold?': Rishabh Pant's Midnight Post Sets Social Media Ablaze
Taking to X late Friday, Pant wondered how much money he would fetch if he entered the upcoming IPL 2025 mega players’ auction.

Speculation was rife about Rishabh Pant’s release from Delhi Capitals, especially after a news report claimed so earlier in July. Soon, the franchise leadership quashed the rumours, stating publicly that their skipper wasn’t going anywhere. However, the India wicketkeeper-batter’s latest post on X has left the DC owners and fans sweating.

Taking to X late Friday, Pant wondered how much money he would fetch if he entered the upcoming mega players’ auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

“If go to the auction. will I be sold or not and for how much,” he wrote on X.

While a few fans were convinced that Pant was having fun and nothing more than that, others kept guessing the amount he could bag if he goes under the hammer.

Here’s how the netizens reacted:

Recently while addressing the media, DC co-owner Parth Jindal confirmed that the wicketkeeper-batter will be retained by the franchise.

“Yes, we definitely have to retain. We have some very good players in our team. The rules have just come out, so after discussing with GMR and our director of cricket, Sourav Ganguly, decisions will be made,” Parth Jindal had said.

“Rishabh Pant will definitely be retained. We also have Axar Patel, who is excellent, Tristan Stubbs, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Kuldeep Yadav, Abishek Porel, Mukesh Kumar, and Khaleel Ahmed, all very good players in our team,” he further added on the matter of retentions.

As far as the retention policy is concerned, has IPL governing council has allowed each franchise up to six retentions, including a maximum of two uncapped stars.
