'Had the Moment of my Life': RCB's Shreyanka Patil Pictured with Virat Kohli After Maiden WPL Title Win
RCB's player of the match in the WPL 2024 final, Shreyanka Patil had the moment of her lifetime after interacting with the men's star Virat Kohli.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru all-rounder Shreyanka Patil was all smiles as she shared the frame with Virat Kohli in her latest post on social media. Patil has proven to be one of the most impactful players in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru women’s squad this season.

She was a crucial reason behind her team’s success in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 campaign which saw them lift the title in only the tournament’s second edition. Amid the title celebrations at the RCB Unbox event 2024, Patil shared a picture along with the Indian batting great.

Her excitement to meet Kohli was quite visible in her post’s caption, “Started watching cricket cos of him. Grew up dreaming of being like him. And last night, had the moment of my life. Virat said, ‘Hi Shreyanka, well bowled.’ He knows my name.”

Shreyanka Patil did not have the brightest of starts for Royal Challengers Bengaluru this season. She struggled for form and also missed a couple of matches. Having recovered from her fitness issues, Patil looked like a different player altogether. She registered a four-wicket haul in a group game against Delhi Capitals on March 10. Her performance, however, was not enough to secure a win for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

In the final of the WPL 2024, Patil played a phenomenal game as she picked up four wickets. She dismissed the likes of Meg Lanning, Minnu Mani, Arundhati Reddy and Taniya Bhatiya to curb Delhi Capitals’ chances of rescuing the match.

Shreyanka Patil, alongside her teammates, was given a ‘Guard of Honour’ for winning the first-ever WPL title for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. As a franchise, Royal Challengers Bengaluru still have not won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title in the last 16 years despite making the final on three occasions.

This made the women’s title even more significant, especially for the fans. The entire city celebrated their team’s triumph over back-to-back finalists Delhi Capitals in the WPL 2024 final.
