AUS-W vs SA-W, Only Test Day 1 Highlights:
The Australia Women’s team are well on the front foot following a dominant start to Day 1 of the One-off Test against South Africa Women’s team. Having won the toss, skipper Alyssa Healy chose to bowl first and it turned out to be a gem of a decision.
The South African side were bundled out for just 76 runs. Darcie Brown her first Test five-fer to leave the Proteas side crumbling. To further pile on the pressure, the hosts were dominant with the bat as well despite the early loss of the top-order as Litchfield, Perry and McGrath were dismissed cheaply by Masabata Klass.
The Australian skipper, Alyssa Healy led from the front as she went on to post up a score of 99 eventually being dismissed before reaching the milestone. To partner her, Beth Mooney also chipped in with 78 to drive the innings back in their favour.
With the two set batters dismissed, Annabel Sutherland is now contributing with the bat as she went unbeaten on 54 along with Ashleigh Gardner who is yet to get off the mark at stumps on Day 1 of the Test.
