Once the game concluded, DC co-owner Parth Jindal met and greeted Sanju Samson and RR Manoj Badale on the sidelines of Kotla

Delhi Capitals chairman and co-owner Parth Jindal let his emotions out when Sanju Samson was given out by the on-field umpires. The dismissal of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper led to a huge controversy with people questioning the umpiring standards in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Samson was leading RR’s tricky chase of 222 against DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The Rajasthan captain was batting on 86 when he pulled a Mukesh Kumar delivery and was caught by Shai Hope very close to the long-off rope. The TV replays couldn’t clarify if the fielder had taken a clean catch and the hosts were given the benefit of the doubt.

Samson found himself at the receiving end as he was given out. He even had a heated discussion with the umpires but ultimately, had to walk off the field. Meanwhile, DC co-owner Jindal was truly animated over Samson’s dismissal.

But once the game concluded, Jindal met and greeted Samson and RR Manoj Badale on the sidelines of Kotla. The video of the meet-up was shared on DC’s official handle, stating that Jindal congratulated Samson on his World Cup selection.

“Our Chairman and Co-owner, Parth Jindal, caught up with Rajasthan Royals’ captain Sanju Samson & owner Manoj Badale, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium last night, after what was an exceptional contest of cricket. Parth also extended his congratulations to the RR skipper on being selected for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup,” the caption of the video read.

Samson’s departure left Rajasthan Royals in a tight spot but the team still should have won the IPL match against Delhi Capitals here, said their head coach Kumar Sangakkara.

“Irrespective of that dismissal, we still should have probably seen that game home,” Sangakkara said at the post-match press conference.

“Losses happen. We had a great run at the start of the season. We bowled brilliantly in this game, especially Ashwin but once you make too many casual mistakes, it becomes very hard. At the end of the day it’s about execution,” he added.
