Gokarna's Breathtaking Backdrop Sets The Stage For Mani Kandan's Next

Actor Mani Kandan’s upcoming yet-to-be-titled romantic film with director Prabhu Ram Vyas is being shot in full swing at Gokarna in Karnataka. The film, which marks Vyas’ directorial debut, completed its first schedule in Chennai. In a post shared by Jai Bhim actor on X, the pictures show scenes from the shoot at the beautiful Karnataka-based town.

South star Vijay Sethupathi kicked off the first phase of the film in August, while the second phase was completed a month later in September. The film stars Sri Gauri Priya and Khanna Ravi in the lead roles alongside Mani Kandan.

The post has amassed over 21,000 views. One user commented, “The areas where the shooting took place are too good. I think while watching this film we can experience it.” Another wrote, “Beautiful scenery.”

Gokarna, derived from Sanskrit as Cow’s Ears, is a picturesque destination for beach enthusiasts. Nestled at the confluence of the Gangavali and Agnashini rivers, this Karnataka town boasts a revered Shiva temple housing the sacred Atma Lingam. Gokarna’s rich spiritual heritage is evident with its seven muktisalas, or pilgrimage centres, making it a cherished site mentioned in the Tamil hymns of Nayanmar saints. The town’s serene beaches and cultural significance draw visitors seeking tranquillity and spirituality.

An influential beach tourism attraction, the place is home to five beaches namely Kudle Beach, Gokarna Beach, Half Moon Beach, Paradise Beach and Om Beach.

The untitled film, which marks Prabhu Ram Vyas’ directorial debut, is backed by Yuvaraj Ganesan of Million Dollar Pictures and Nazerath Pasilian and Magesh Raj Pasilian of MRP Entertainment. It features music direction by Sean Roldan, cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna and editing by Barath Vikraman.

Saravanan, Geetha Kailasam, Dada fame Harish and Arunachaleswaran, form the main supporting cast.

Manikandan made his debut as a writer with the 2013 film Pizza II: Villa. The actor starred in films like India Pakistan, Vikram Vedha, Neetikaan, Varanthum Passingom, 8 Thottakkal, Kaala, Chillukarupatti, and Ele among others. In the latest, the 35-year-old has been winning accolades for films like Jai Bheem and Good Night.

Prabhu Ram Vyas is known for the popular YouTube series Livin, starring Kanna Ravi and Amrutha Srinivas in lead roles. Sri Gouri Priya is known for her work in the series Modern Love: Chennai.
