Mumbai: After a day of struggle ahead of Bihar exit polls on Thursday night, the market has ended lower. The Sensex was down 248.72 points or 0.9 per cent at 26304.20. The Nifty slipped 84.75 points or 1 per cent at 7955.45.

Coal India, NTPC, Hero MotoCorp, M&M and Maruti were top gainers while Sun Pharma, Vedanta, Tata Steel, BHEL and Bharti were losers.
