Microsoft Outage: BSE, NSE Remain Unaffected, Say Systems Running Normal
NSE and NCL (NSE Clearing Ltd) are working normal today even as Microsoft users globally have reported massive outages in services

Though stock traders have reported some platform-specific tech issues related to 5paisa, Groww and Motilal Oswal, the Indian stock exchanges BSE and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday said the global outage of Microsoft systems has not impacted their systems. The statements come after reports of disruptions in the functioning of stock exchanges in several countries.

Microsoft users globally, several in India, have reported massive outages in services, with outage tracking website Downdetector showing users flagging disruptions across various services.

“NSE and NCL (NSE Clearing Ltd) are working normal today,” the exchange’s spokesperson said in a statement.

Separately, a spokesperson of BSE said that the bourse is “not impacted due to Microsoft issue. Our operations are running normal.”

Globally, the Microsoft cloud outage led to US airlines cancelling flights, but the tech giant later reportedly said its cloud services outage in the Central US region has been resolved.

However, traders reported some platform-specific issues related to Nuvama, 5paisa, Groww, ICICI Securities, IIFL Securites, and Motilal Oswal.

Brokerage firms 5paisa and IIFL Securities have told clients that their systems are affected as a result of the Microsoft issue.

IIFL Securities reportedly told its clients that outage on cybersecurity platform Crowdstrike is causing issues.

“There is global issue with Crowdstrike Antivirus protection software which we have installed on our servers and endpoints which has caused systems and servers reboot issue and blue dump. This is global issue as confirmed by Crowdstrike and all major companies which are using this software are facing this issue. 360 one also having this issue. We are working towards mitigation on war footing and I will update shortly on next status,” IIFL Securities reportedly told its clients.

“You might face rate refresh issues and order placement issue in our Mobile App and Web. Our technical team is working to resolve the same. Inconvenience caused is highly regretted,” said 5Paisa Capital to its users on X platform.
