BHEL is an evergreen stock. It’s a favourite stock of foreign institutional investors (FII).

Mumbai: Jagdish Malkani, Member of NSE is of the view that BHEL is an evergreen stock. It’s a favourite stock of foreign institutional investors (FII).

Malkani told CNBC-TV18, "BHEL is an evergreen stock. If one sees their order book, performance and the fact that so much of PSU business goes to them, especially in the new areas like nuclear energy etc., they have got great potential, great future. One can see it’s a great FII favourite also. So going ahead, this is an evergreen one in the same league as ABB, Siemens etc."

Taking a view of premier stocks trading currently at higher level, he said one should prefer ITC to Hindustan Lever.

"Hindustan Lever’s numbers are great. Clearly cost cutting and all that. Still food division continues to be a bit of concern but certainly lot of confidence coming out of the management," said Malkani.

"However, having said all that if one would ask me dispassionately between the two greats, I would still go for ITC at these levels," he added.
