Kannada actor Vijay Raghavendra-starrer Marichi’s trailer was released yesterday, on September 22. The trailer shows a father and son moving to a new place, and a Halloween party being celebrated. As the clip proceeds, we see a police officer (Vijay Raghavendra) informing his seniors that a serial killer is on the run. The officer and his team reach this conclusion while they are investigating the deaths of some women.
Will the police be able to apprehend the killer and stop the murders of the women? This question forms the core theme of Marichi, directed by Sidhruv. With dialogues like, “Killing will continue until the scores are settled", the film seems to promise something big. The trailer has garnered more than 5,00,000 views till now.
Social media users appreciated the trailer. One of them commented, Halloween Theme, Suspicious Scene, Experimental, And Scientifically Based Thriller! Waiting eagerly to watch it on the big screen. Expecting the Unexpected". Another wrote, “Super teaser sidhruv n team … It has come beyond expectations … waiting for the movie … Wishing the entire team all the best."
Sidhruv discussed this film in an interview with a portal recently. He said, “Marichi is the name of Lord Brahma’s son." Sidhruv also added that he has gone through more than 150 titles before zeroing in on the name Marichi. According to Sidhruv, initially, he had also contemplated the title Rishi. At that time, however, there was already a film made in the Telugu cinema with the name Rishi. It is for this reason that Sidhruv chose Marichi as the title. Sidhruv will make his debut in the direction of this film.
Sidhruv also had a word with The Times of India regarding this film, where he said, “This name is apt for the movie’s subject, as it talks about an infamous murder case. Vijay Raghavendra, an investigative officer, nabs the culprits. This forms the crux of the story. But the narration makes this movie special. Though Vijay has done many police roles, his unique character in this movie is bound to receive a lot of love."
