Director Om Prakash Rao is all set to embark on a new cinematic journey with a women-centric film, featuring three heroines in pivotal roles. Recently, a mahurat ceremony was conducted for the film, during which the makers offered insights into the project’s development and updates.

Titled Phoenix, this film marks a significant departure from Om Prakash Rao’s previous works, as it is his first foray into an all-female star-studded film. After a hiatus from the industry, the acclaimed director is back with a fresh perspective. Phoenix is reported to be a crime thriller that promises an intriguing narrative.

During the event, Om Prakash Rao addressed the audience and dispelled the notion that he is primarily associated with making remakes. He affirmed his commitment to exploring a ‘straightforward’ subject in this film. Rao is dedicated to delivering a compelling story with Phoenix.

The film boasts a cast of three lead actresses, with Nimika Ratnakar, Kritika Logo, and Tanusha Rajput taking on significant roles. The production is being handled by Trisha Prakash under the banner of Siriguru Chitralaya. Bhaskar Shetty is set to portray the character of a police officer in the film, and the dialogues will be penned by director MS Ramesh. Renowned musician Sadhu Kokila is entrusted with the film’s music composition. Phoenix is poised to delve into the lives of modern women and the myriad challenges they encounter in the contemporary world.

Nimika Ratnakar, one of the film’s leads, expressed her enthusiasm for working on this project during a prior interview, stating, “Phoenix will be my second collaboration with director Om Prakash Rao after Trishulam, and I feel blessed to work with this veteran director.” This undertaking will mark Om Prakash Rao’s 49th venture in the Kannada film industry.

Om Prakash Rao has gained recognition for his contributions to the film industry, having directed well-received movies such as Lockup Death, Huchcha, AK 47, Kalasipalya, and Ayya. He made his directorial debut in 1994 with the film Adhipati and also showcased his acting skills in the 2002 movie Dakota Express.
