The Think Campus of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) situated on Hosur Road in Bengaluru experienced a false bomb threat, creating a state of panic among the workforce. According to News18 Kannada, a former TCS employee phoned in a bomb threat to the Bengaluru office, prompting the evacuation of employees and a thorough examination of the premises.
This incident unfolded on a Tuesday morning, prompting the immediate evacuation of employees from the office premises upon learning of the bomb threat. In response to the call, authorities in the Parappana Agrahara area were alerted, and a team, including a bomb disposal squad, promptly arrived at the campus. The bomb disposal and dog squads meticulously searched the complex, but fortunately, no suspicious items were discovered during the inspection.
Upon the confirmation by the police that the bomb threat was a hoax, the management received the green light to allow evacuated employees to return and resume their normal work activities.

According to the police, the individual behind the false bomb threat was a woman from Belagavi, located approximately 500 km from Bengaluru. Having been terminated by TCS, she allegedly made the call to a company driver, claiming that a bomb was planted in the B Block of the campus. Investigations revealed that the act was motivated by her resentment towards the company, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend her.
Meanwhile, this incident in 2023 is not the sole occurrence of a hoax bomb threat within a TCS campus. In a similar occurrence in May, a TCS campus in Hyderabad received a fake bomb threat, resulting in the evacuation of 1,500 employees. The unidentified caller, allegedly a former TCS employee based in Bengaluru, claimed there was a bomb within the office premises.
