Royal Enfield, the two-wheeler division of Eicher Motors, reported a six percent drop in sales to 65,744 units in November. The automaker sold 70,126 bikes in November 2017, the company said in a statement. Domestic sales declined four percent to 65,026 units in the previous month as against 67,776 units in the year-ago month, it said. Exports during the month under review plunged a massive 69 percent 718 units from 2,350 units shipped out in November 2017, as per the statement.
Royal Enfield had earlier launched the much anticipated Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 Twins in India for a price tag of Rs 2.65 Lakh and Rs 2.50 Lakh respectively. Both the prices are ex-showroom, India and there are a total of 6 variants on offer – 3 for the Continental GT 650 and 3 for the Interceptor 650. The top of the line variant is priced at Rs 2.85 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Both the bikes get 3 year/40000 km warranty.
Royal Enfield has also seen a rise in competition with the recent launch of Jawa motorcycles. The Iconic Jawa Motorcycle brand finally re-entered India and launched the new 300cc motorcycles. The Jawa prices start at Rs 1.55 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available for bookings at Rs 5000. There are 3 options to choose from – Jawa Standard, Jawa Forty Two, and Jawa Perak.
