Kawasaki to launch Versys 650 on December 24
The price of the Kawasaki Versys 650 should be higher than the Ninja 650 by about Rs 1.3 lakh as it is expected to have better specifications and might be offered with ABS as standard.

Kawasaki is all set to launch the Versys 650 in India on December 24. Presently, the Japanese bike maker sells the larger displacement Versys 1000 in India; however, with the launch of Versys 650, Kawasaki will target a younger audience as well as have a lower entry point to cater larger numbers in the country.

The dual purpose Versys 650 resembles the Versys 1000 in terms of design. Dual headlamps, height adjustable front windscreen, LED tail lamps and a large fuel tank are some of the features of the Versys 650. This one being an adventure tourer comes with reach adjustable handlebar and wide seats for that extra comfort on long journeys. It has a ground clearance of 170mm which makes it take uneven adventurous surfaces with great ease. The Versys 650 also gets upside down forks at front and monoshock with remote adjustable spring for the rear.

The Kawasaki Versys 650 will be powered by a 649cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that makes 69PS of power and generates 63.7Nm of peak torque and comes paired with a six-speed transmission. The front brakes on the Versys 650 are dual 300mm petal-style rotors with two-piston calipers and the rear brake is single 250mm petal-style rotor with single-piston caliper.

The price of the Kawasaki Versys 650 should be higher than the Ninja 650 by about Rs 1.3 lakh as it is expected to have better specifications and might be offered with ABS as standard. Kawasaki will soon offer ABS as standard on the Ninja 650 as well.
