Indigo Becomes First Domestic Airline to Have Over 2,000 Daily Planned Flights, Check Details
The airline is ruling the operation efficiency chart nationwide, leaving behind Tata-owned airlines including Air India and Air India Express.

The leading budget airline Indigo has unclocked a new milestone of having over 2000 scheduled flights on a daily basis. It has been reported that the carrier took almost 17 years to achieve this impressive number, ever since it started its operation in 2006.

Indigo’s Operation Efficiency

The airline is now ruling the operation efficiency chart nationwide, leaving behind Tata-owned airlines including Air India and Air India Express. When it comes to Air India, it has 118 aircraft, which operate 430 flights daily. Air India Express AirAsia India operates a combined 300 daily flights daily on 57 aircraft. While Vistara is yet to share the data.

Here’s What Indigo CEO Says About Milestone

Reacting to the achievement, IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers said, “As the airline celebrates this impressive milestone of surpassing 2000 planned daily flights, the number represents IndiGo’s journey of reshaping the aviation industry of India.”

Indigo on Top 10 Airlines Chart Globally

As per the latest OAG Data for October 23, Indigo has successfully secured its place in the top 10 airlines globally, which has shown impressive growth in both frequency and seat capacity with the continued expansion of domestic and international levels.

Ever since Jet Airways’ financial situation landed in the soup, and faced a massive collapse in 2019, Indigo has strengthened its operation and has been ruling the Indian skies effortlessly.

Meanwhile, Indigo has more than 329 aircraft in the fleet right now. However, 1,000 plane consignment is expected to be added to the fleet by 2030.

It has been reported that Indigo has over 60 percent of its domestic share, which makes it a leading airline in the country for both national and international routes.
