Team India players arrived in Ahmedabad on Thursday for the big-ticket clash against Pakistan which will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday. The Indian team started the ODI World Cup campaign on a high with back-to-back wins over Australia and Afghanistan. The players went to the hotel in a team bus while head coach Rahul Dravid decided to go to the stadium straightway in a car to inspect the pitch for the mega encounter against Pakistan.

Vice-captain Hardik Pandya was the first player to get out of the team bus as he was accompanied by his son Agastya. Virat Kohli was the next in line as the players were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff in Ahmedabad.
The broadcasters shared that Dravid took a separate car and went straight to Narendra Modi Stadium where he inspected the pitch and had a word with the curator and the ground staff.
Meanwhile, star opener Shubman Gill, who is recovering from dengue, resumed training which is a big relief for India ahead of the Pakistan clash.
Local Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) officials informed News18 CricketNext that Gill dropped in “around 11 am” and batted for nearly an hour. Some throw-down specialists accompanied the India opener and he had a proper hit – not gentle knocking with the bat.
“Shubman Gill was here in the morning and he did bat around one hour. Not many people were around when he was batting and he left the premises moment he was done with the hit,” says a GCA official.
Gill continues to make good progress and it now remains to be seen whether he recovers in time for the high-profile game against Pakistan on October 14.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma smashed recording-breaking hundred, leading India to an emphatic eight-wicket win over Afghanistan on Wednesday. Hasmatullah Shahidi’s dogged 80 and the young Azmatullah Omarazai’s gutsy 62 took Afghanistan to 272 for eight after opting to bat.
On a batting beauty, India skipper Rohit (131 off 84) was unstoppable and flaunted his envious range of strokes. His record seventh World Cup hundred off 63 balls helped India gun down the target in 35 overs,
