The song, beautifully voiced by Shreya Ghoshal, has remained a favourite for many and Vidya Balan’s powerful classical dance only added to its appeal. Recently, a flute rendition of this timeless track has been making waves online, even catching the attention of none other than renowned singer Tulsi Kumar.
Siddhi Prasanna, a skilled flute artist, shared a video of her mesmerising performance on Instagram. In the clip, she is seen dressed elegantly in a black outfit, complemented by silver and black earrings, as she plays the flute with confidence and joy. Given the song’s complex composition and intricate musical elements, including its fast-paced rhythm and challenging sargam, Siddhi’s ability to flawlessly match the melody left the viewers in awe. The level of breath control needed to maintain the pace and complexity of Mere Dholna is impressive and Siddhi effortlessly showcased her expertise. The overlay text on the video reads, “Mere Dholna (Sargam Part) but at 135% speed.”

Bhool Bhulaiyaa, a comedy horror film, is directed by Priyadarshan and serves as the official remake of the 1993 classic Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu. The film boasts an ensemble cast, including Vidya Balan, Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja, Ameesha Patel, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, Asrani and Vikram Gokhale. Its sequel titled Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was released in 2022, directed by Anees Bazmee. The film stars Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu in lead roles.
