Every country faces the issue of smuggling, which has a detrimental effect on its economy and national security. Smuggling is strictly illegal and can lead to serious consequences. Despite such strict rules, many people try to smuggle things past borders. One of the most common ways to smuggle is through the airport. Even though it is impossible to smuggle large items due to strict security, there have been various cases where people have smuggled small goods. Recently, a case has gone viral on the internet, and people will be shocked to hear what security found out during the check. According to reports, airport security found out that a man was smuggling small snakes.
According to reports, a new incident of smuggling came into the limelight when a man was caught smuggling small snakes to China. It happened when a man was passing through the security check and there was a slight movement in his pants. He thought that maybe no one noticed, but a customs officer present there saw it. Immediately, the officer took him aside and started checking him again. But what he found next was about to shock everyone. Reportedly, the man was caught trying to smuggle more than 100 snakes into mainland China from Hong Kong by stuffing them in his pants. The airport authorities have not yet declared the name and age of the person but have detained them at the security checkpoint in the city of Shenzhen, China.
The security officials revealed that he was carrying six canvas drawstring bags stuffed and sealed with tape in the pockets of the trousers. When these packets were opened, they found snakes of different sizes and colours. They found 104 scaly reptiles, including milk snakes and corn snakes, many of which were non-native species. They were mostly pink, red, and white.
It has been found that China is among the world’s biggest animal smuggling hubs, as people trade many animals to the country illegally. The country’s biosafety and disease control laws ban people from importing non-native species without permission.
