While some preparatory methods are celebrated, others have also raised concerns. Popsicles are available in different flavours like chocolate, fruits, or others. But, recently a video of Kanpur’s ice cream factory has surfaced online and sparked a conversation about hygiene standards. In the video, the preparation of popsicles left netizens disturbed by the unhygienic conditions seen during the manufacturing process.
In the now-viral video, a vendor can be seen preparing orange popsicles. He begins by pouring orange syrup into a popsicle mold. Next, he adds milk and places the mold in a freezer. The surrounding area of the factory can be seen unhygienic. The water in the tub where the popsicle mold is kept is also dirty. The video has sparked hygiene concerns. The video was shared on an Instagram account named @humbhifooodie. Sharing the video the user wrote, “Orange Ice Cream Making. Kanpur. Rs 10 Only.”

The video was posted a week ago and since then it has collected over a lakh views and likes. Netizens criticised the video and expressed concerns about the hygiene practices shown in the video. The post offers a peek into the factory’s practices has sparked widespread disgust and concern. “Immunity booster stuff for Indian kids,” commented a user. “Parents were right,” added a second. “Never buying a local brand again,” mentioned a third. “Ice cream tray is so dirty,” wrote a fourth. One user shared how parents used to ask us not to have ice cream from local shops and wrote “Parents sahi bolte the sewer paani se banta hai (Parents were right. They use sewer water.)”
