In UP's Sankrod Village, Fear Of Leopards Makes Locals' Lives Harder
Leopards continuously move near the forest area, making it challenging for locals to commute.

Do you know there is a village in India, where leopards terrorise the local people? Yes, it is true. The movement of leopards in the Sankrod village of Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh is causing fear and terror among the people. The farmers in that village form a group and go to the field together. Many labourers have stopped going to the fields out of fear. The reason is the terror of leopards in the village. It has seen leopards continuously moving near the forest area, making it challenging for the local people to commute. With the daily occurrence of such incidents, the terror-stricken villagers of Baghpat have informed the forest department officials regarding this issue. Every day, the forest department officials are getting ten to twelve missed calls from the villagers. In order to resolve this issue, the forest department has taken an initiative where they laid a trap to catch the leopard. The leopards are still out of their reach. This is increasing the fear among the common people making it even more challenging.

The village Sankrod which is located about twelve kilometres from the district headquarters, is in news these days because of the terror of leopards in those areas. The villagers are also not allowing small children to leave the house. Leopards are seen by the farmers near the Yamuna Khadar area in the forest. The farmers clicked photos and made their videos viral and demanded the forest department officials to bring out a solution to this problem soon.

One of the villagers, Devendra Kumar Dhama said that for the last three years, leopards are seen roaming near the forest areas, leading to a sense of fear among the villagers. The forest department team is therefore camping in the forest to catch the leopard. The department officials have also appealed to the villagers to be cautious.
