Sneha Chakraborty's amazing artworks are taking the internet by storm, by spreading the message of mental well-being.

Sneha Chakraborty, a mural artist is causing quite a stir across India with her vibrant murals. Teaming up with the Mind & Matter Charitable Trust, Sneha’s ‘Travel and Paint: India Tour’ is turning walls into colourful canvases for mental health awareness. For bustling cities to serene villages, her eye-catching murals are gaining momentum and spreading hope. And guess what? Her amazing artworks are taking the internet by storm, by spreading the message of mental well-being.

Deepika Appaiah, the founder of Mind & Matter Charitable Trust, has been leading impactful initiatives like ‘Paint A Wall’ campaigns. Collaborating with various artists and celebrities, the organisation is spreading awareness far and wide. In a conversation with The Indian Express, Deepika underscored the profound connection between art, beauty, culture and mental well-being. She also highlighted how Sneha’s art played an important role shedding light on this connection, particularly in Madikeri, Coorg.

Mind & Matter Charitable Trust’s efforts include workshops conducted in various schools and colleges in Kodagu, and in November 2024, they held similar workshops in 10 schools and colleges in Mysore and Kodagu in partnership with the Department of Psychiatric Social Work at NIMHANS, Bengaluru.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Sneha talked about her journey as a mural artist and her collaboration with Deepika’s Trust to raise awareness about mental health across the cities.

“My first stop was Coorg, where the wall mural pays tribute to NGOs like Mind & Matter. Deepika’s dedication to raising awareness inspired me to share these stories through my social media platforms,” Sneha said.

Reflecting upon her ‘Travel and Paint: India Tour’, Sneha shared with the news portal, “One big lesson I’ve learned is not to judge places based on hearsay. For instance, painting 12 walls in Haryana was incredible. The people were friendly and welcoming, especially in Narnol. There, I met a woman who owned a small business and employed other women, empowering them to be financially independent. I wouldn’t have known this if I hadn’t visited.”

She further added, “When you visit somewhere without preconceived notions, you become a canvas for stories. It’s intriguing.”

Sneha while travelling to various cities and villages partners with various NGOs and local businesses to paint murals across the streets of India. She also shared her thoughts on the advanced technology, with an interesting idea imagining how the famous artists like Da Vinci and Picasso would have thrived in today’s world.

She further expressed, “They would embrace the technology, no doubt. Tech is today’s key element, and they would be having a great time using it to its fullest potential. They would excel at it.”
