From Shoes Inside House To Perfumed Detergent, Keep Your Child Away From These Habits
The doctor said that children shouldn’t go into the house with shoes. This is because shoes can bring dirt, faeces, mould and pesticides.

A doctor and longevity expert has revealed three things that she would never allow her child as a mother. Dr Poonam Desai often shares videos on her Instagram page where she gives medical advice and health tips and tricks for children.

In a recent video, she said that there were three things that she would always ban as a doctor and mother. The first is a harmless habit that many people have – to go into the house with shoes.

“(But my family) usually takes off our shoes right at the door and doesn’t bring our dirty shoes into the house,” she said in the video.

This is because shoes can bring dirt, faeces, mould and pesticides. She added that she prefers not to wear shoes at home, and that means teaching her child not to wear shoes in the house.

The second thing Dr Desai would never allow her child is to eat food from heated plastic containers. “We don’t put our plastic Tupperware in the microwave and eat from it,” she said. The reason for this is that it can release microplastics that are hormonal disruptors. Endocrine disruptors (EDCs) are natural or artificially produced chemicals that can mimic, block or interfere with the body’s hormones.

The last thing the doctor mentions is “Do not use a perfumed detergent”. “I tend to use perfume-free detergent and fragrance-free lotions,” she said. They contain phthalates that give the products fragrances and make them smoother, which can disrupt hormone production. In the comments, people praised the doctor’s tips and tricks and said they would follow them in the future.

“I do the same thing,” said one user. “Thank you for the tips on plastics and fragrances,” another added. “Great thing, doctor,” said a third.

Meanwhile, a paramedic recently revealed which Easter dishes are safe for your child and which, surprisingly, are not. Nikki Jurcutz has built up a name and a fan base on social media with her parent courses and her Tiny Hearts Education programme. At the top of the list of foods you should beware of is the family’s cult favourite, Cream Eggs. Although you can crush them and thus fit into the small respiratory tract, they are also sticky inside – which makes swallowing difficult for children.
