'Dream Big': US Pacer Saurabh Netravalkar's Special Message To Brown Kids In America
Before moving to the United States, Saurabh Netravalkar represented the Indian U-19 team alongside KL Rahul, Jaydev Unadkar and Mayank Agarwal.

USA cricketer Saurabh Netravalkar was present in New York to witness the famous India-Pakistan rivalry on Sunday, June 9. The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium played host to a sea of blue as Indian fans came to show their support for Rohit Sharma and Co. Team India lived up to the expectations, beating Pakistan by six runs to secure the second victory in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. When the highly anticipated clash was underway, Netravalkar was seen interacting with Indian-American comedian Zarna Garg in the stands of the New York stadium.

A clip featuring the quick chat was later dropped on Instagram by Zarna, who wrote in the caption, “Let’s not lose sight.” She began the interview with a brief introduction of Saurabh Netravalkar, who has developed a huge fanbase following his Super Over heroics against Pakistan a few days ago. The 32-year-old pacer defended a 19-run target off six balls to help the USA notch a historic victory in the T20 World Cup game.

Zarna wholeheartedly congratulated Netravalkar for winning the match for the American side. “I’m here with superstar Saurabh who won the match for Team USA. He works for Oracle and he is a software engineer,” she was heard saying in the video.

Zarna then asked Netravalkar to share a message for the “brown kids staying all over America.” In response, the cricketer smilingly said, “Dream big and do what you love.” Zarna was perhaps not happy with the short answer as she immediately said, “No, no. Cancel Saurabh right now.”

Before moving to the United States, Saurabh Netravalkar represented the Indian U-19 team alongside KL Rahul, Jaydev Unadkar and Mayank Agarwal. He was also part of the squad that featured in the 2010 U-19 World Cup.

In the quarter-final of the tournament, India crossed swords against Pakistan. Netravalkar took one wicket in the match while conceding 16 runs in five overs. India, however, ultimately lost the match as they failed to defend runs.

Netravalkar could have taken the revenge this time as part of the USA national team. He has been staying in the country since 2015. He came to America to pursue higher studies in computer science. Netravalkar made his debut for the USA team in 2018. He will return to action when the co-hosts take on India in the next T20 World Cup fixture on June 12.
