A 20-year-old car washing attendant from Patori village, Samastipur district, Bihar, named Mohammad Riyaz, is dominating the headlines for manufacturing a battery-operated bike. According to Local 18 Bihar, Riyaz purchased all the necessary motorbike parts from the nearby scrapyards. Despite the absence of petrol, this bike, constructed by the Bihar car washing attendant, can provide a speed of 40 kilometres per hour. After the bike is charged fully, it can also easily cover a distance of more than 50 kilometres. Riyaz has also installed a digital meter in the bike to see how much battery is charged in the vehicle. The 20-year-old car washing attendant has garnered accolades from the Samastipur district for constructing this two-wheeler. This bike is remote-controlled and can be started without any key or switch.
What motivated Riyaz to come up with this remarkable invention? According to him, he was worried about the rising rates of petrol and its negative impact on the people’s budget. These factors prompted him to come up with a motorbike that doesn’t require both diesel and gasoline. The Bihar car washing attendant has also changed the outlook of the bike by installing items like a battery voltmeter, LED indicator and LED headlights online. Voltmeters are devices that electrical circuitry utilises to measure the voltage, or potential variation, between two locations. If you purchase an electric bike from a showroom, the price will be at least Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000. Riyaz is a foot forward in that aspect as well. The cost of the bike constructed by him has slashed to Rs 20,000 to 25,000.
A close look at Riyaz’s invention, as seen in the Local 18 video, also reveals some drawbacks that can be worked on to make the bike even more remarkable. Compared to the other bikes constructed by prominent motor companies, Riyaz’s bike has slightly less sitting space. This can be worked upon to add to the comfort level of his creation. He has elucidated the other aspects of his two-wheeler. According to him, the digital meter installed on his bike is used in the e-rickshaws.
