New Delhi: The successor to the world’s first dual-screen Android-based smartphone, the YotaPhone 2, has made its debut in the US and is up for pre-order.

The unique phone features an e-ink touchscreen display on its back that is aimed to help conserve battery life.

Yota Devices, the company behind the phone, has started a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to bring the unusual phone to the US. Buyers can pre-order it for $500 and get a three-month subscription to BookMate along with a special bumper case.

It sports a 5-inch AMOLED, full HD screen that offers 442 pixels per inch. It includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 2.2GHz quad-core processor combined with 2GB RAM.

The Yotaphone 2 comes with an internal storage of 32GB, 8 megapixel camera and is 4G compatible. The Android-based phone is packed with a 2500mAh battery and is expected to start shipping in August.
