Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is likely to launch the much-anticipated smartphone Redmi Note 5 soon. Although the date has not yet been confirmed by the manufacturer while the price of Redmi Note 5 has surfaced online. The leaked renders have shown off a radically new design on the device. According to a report by GizmoChina, Xiaomi is hosting a contest on the China MIUI forum and has listed the Redmi Note 5 as one of the prizes for the winners of the contest.

In the forum post, the smartphone has been priced 699 Yuan which means it will be priced at over Rs 6800 in India. However, the same source could also be a typographical error and the company might be intended to write Note 5A, which is also priced at 699 Yuan.

As per image leaked yesterday, the smartphone is expected to feature a 5.99-inch Full-HD+ display with a 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The device could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage. The smartphone is expected to run on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system with MIUI 9 on top of it and could be powered by Snapdragon 636 chipset. In terms of optics, Note 5 is expected to come with 12MP back camera and a 5MP camera on the front.
