Wireless earbuds these days sell for around Rs 2,000 going all the way up to 25-30,000 but what if we tell you that one brand is selling TWS earbuds for over $1660 which comes to around Rs 1,38,000 in India? That’s right, these premium earbuds come from luxury brand Louis Vuitton and they are called Horizon Light Up.
The company is known for its premium bags, jewellery, watches and perfumes among others, but now it seems to have entered the premium audio market with the new product.
So what is so special about the Louis Vuitton earbuds? The company’s product details say the earbuds are made from sapphire glass top disk with blue-to-violet gradient back-printing.
Each buds weigh 8.2 grams probably because of the material used to make them. The charging case for these buds are made from stainless steel that has an LED light ring. Coming to the features, the earbuds come with 11mm Beryllium drivers and a couple of omnidirectional mics. You get them with ambient and hybrid noise cancelling modes and the Louis Vuitton Connect app is the hub on your smartphone to control the earbuds.
The buds get IPX5 rating which makes them water resistant and you have mechanical buttons to control the playback. The charging case has IPX4 rating to protect against water, it supports wired and wireless charging, which is claimed to go from 0 to 100 percent in 40 minutes.
When you browse through these features, there isn’t a lot of extra stuff that you get compared to the AirPods Pro 2nd gen which comes for ⅙ of the price of these Louis Vuitton earbuds but then it’s all about the brand and them using materials like sapphire surely plays a role in that expansive price tag. If you thought Apple charging Rs 70,000 for wireless headphones was crazy, Louis Vuitton is taking it to another level with these earbuds.
