Samsung Galaxy S24 series is bringing back the Exynos-Snapdragon duo for different models. The Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus models launched in India come with Samsung’s in-house Exynos chipset that have generally fared lower than expected in the flagship segment. The new Galaxy S24 devices get the Exynos 2400 SoC which is also dubbed as an AI chip like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that you get on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Some of you were not pleased to see the return of the Exynos chip to the Galaxy S lineup but your concerns are likely to be off the mark going by the recent comparisons done between both the chipsets. If you have been worried about major performance levels between the Exynos variant and the Snapdragon models, the latest tests show some surprising results.
The gaming tests done on the phones using the Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets shows the reality of where both these hardware stand. And people will be pleased to know that somehow Samsung has managed to bridge the gap in gaming performance of its chipset. The Galaxy S24 Plus with the Exynos 2400 SoC and the Galaxy S24 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset were tested using power-hungry games like Genshin Impact, PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends and Fortnite.
Granted, when you put them through benchmark tests through various apps, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 comes ahead but even then the gap isn’t too big. All these inputs suggest the Exynos 2400 might finally have a strong core performance that will give users a flagship-like experience.
Tests like these generally are done using pre-production units which tend to have many changes in design and structure. But with these results showing little difference in performance, we’re now eager to see if Samsung actually manages to prove its mettle in the real world. We’ll know more about these improvements in the coming days as the reviews start to trickle in from different media houses.
