Samsung India has refreshed its M-series smartphone lineup with the new Galaxy M12. The latest smartphone is designed for the budget segment, and it comes with Samsung Exynos 850 SoC, 48-megapixel primary camera, and a large 6,000mAh battery. Its sale in India will start from March 18 onwards, and the phone first surfaced on the Vietnam website last month. Customers in India will be able to purchase the device via Amazon and Samsung’s offline and online channel.
In terms of specifications, the newly launched Samsung Galaxy M12 sports a 6.5-inch HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) TFT Infinity-V display with 90Hz refresh rate and 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it packs the Exynos 850 SoC, paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB memory that is expandable up to 1TB via a dedicated microSD card slot. The phone also supports dual-SIM cards, and it ships the latest-gen Android 11-based OneUI 3.1. The quad rear cameras come in a quad-shaped module with the LED light right next to it. The camera setup includes a 48-megapixel primary rear camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture, two 2-megapixel portrait and macro camera sensors. At the front, there’s an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture for video calling.
Other notable features on the Galaxy M12 include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone carries a 6,000mAh battery that is touted to deliver up to 58 hours of talk time on a 4G network. The packaging includes a data cable, 15W charger, SIM ejection tool, and user manual.
In terms of pricing, the Samsung Galaxy M12 will retail at Rs 10,999 for the base 4GB + 64GB storage option and Rs 13,499 for the 6GB + 128GB storage model. Samsung is providing an introductory price of Rs 9,999 for the base model. Customers can choose between the Attractive Black, Elegant Blue, and Trendy Emerald Green colour options.
