Google Pixel vs Nexus 6P: The Battle of Pure Android Awesomeness
Here is a comparison between the Google Pixel and Google Nexus 6P Android Nougat smartphones.

Google Pixel marks the end of Nexus era. Google’s Nexus series introduced some of the best smartphones, notably the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6P. With the launch of Pixel smartphones, Google is taking forward the same legacy but under a different banner.

The exorbitant prices of the Pixel smartphone might prevent the maximum mileage for especially Google Assistant. The Nexus 6P should be ideally compared with the 5.5-inch Google Pixel XL, however, the steep starting price of Rs 67,000 for the Pixel XL might be a deterrent. So, if you were wondering what is special about the new Pixel smartphone and how it is different from the perfect Nexus 6P, here is the comparison. Of course, the Nexus 6P is powered by the older Snapdragon 810 SoC, but even after a year, the Google Pixel will not woo people who love to droll over spec sheets.

For starters, the Nexus 6P has been already upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat in India. Here are other features Nexus 6P users will not get. Google Assistant: The Pixel is the first Android smartphone to come with the latest version of Android Nougat and built-in Google Assistant. Google might release it to other Android phones in future, but it will surely not do it for now.

So, if you own the Nexus 6P, then download Google Allo to enjoy Google Assistant for free. Or, you can root your device to get it. Unlimited Google Photos backup: If you are using Google Photos to save images then it is good news for you. Pixel and Pixel XL will offer unlimited storage for your photos and videos in original quality on Google Photos.Pixel Launcher: Like any other launchers, the Pixel launcher is also a cosmetic feature that will remain exclusive to Pixel phones for now. 24x7 Chat Support: If you face any problems with your new Pixel smartphone, you can contact customer support via chat anytime.Camera

The Nexus 6P features an excellent camera. However, Google claims to have improved it further in its Pixel smartphones and flaunts the highest DxOMark rating of 89. Optical Image Stabilisation is missing on the both the devices, but the Pixel smartphones come with video stabilization. The Pixel smartphones are splash proof (NOT water proof). The Nexus 6P has no such protection. Also, the Nexus 6P is heavy at a whopping 178 grams and the 5.7-inch screen might make it difficult to grip for many users. On the other hand, the 5-inch Google Pixel weighs 143 grams and offers a slim design that is easy to grip.

Fingerprint scanners are available on both the devices along with USB Type-C charging port. The good news is Google has retained the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Nexus 6P is backed by a 3,450mAh battery while the smaller Pixel is powered by a 2,770mAh. Both devices offer a similar battery life. Don't miss: Google Pixel: A Nexus to Just Compete With Apple?
