Google Maps Gets WiFi-Only Mode, Save to SD Card Feature
Users can now save these downloaded maps and free up storage space for other stuff.

New Delhi: Google has added new features to its mapping service that allows users to save downloaded maps to an external SD card.

This is in addition to the previously available feature of saving an area of Google Maps for offline use later. Users can now save these downloaded maps and free up storage space for other stuff.

Users can also choose to save on mobile data by taking Google Maps completely offline. All that a user needs to do is switch to 'WiFi only' mode and Google Maps app will work completely offline.

If users need to see what the traffic is like or update their offline maps, they can easily switch back to online mode by changing their setting or finding the nearest WiFi.With inputs from IANS
