Time and again, reports have surfaced of Apple Watch users thanking the company for helping save their lives—in a variety of situations, such as helping them get rescued from forest fires or after they collapsed from a health ailment.
Now, a female student from Delaware, United States, named Nasatka, has shared an account of how her Apple Watch saved her after a terrifying carbon monoxide exposure. The exposure to carbon monoxide occurred in her Smyrna, Delaware apartment, as reported by CBS News.
“I was feeling extremely exhausted,” Nasatka was quoted as saying by CBS News. “My vision was getting blurry,” she added.
Luckily, before Nasatka passed out from the deadly exposure, she was able to reach for her Apple Watch and hit SOS—prompting an emergency call to 911.
After some time, she heard the firefighters, who eventually rescued her. However, it is likely that the woman would not have been able to call for help if it were not for the Apple Watch, given the deadly effects of carbon monoxide poisoning on the human body.
Subsequently, the fire department confirmed that the woman’s apartment was full with gas, with a reading of 80 parts per million (PPM). The woman stated that this reading was extremely high, and that the leak was caused by a faulty heater, which is a major source of leaks during the winter season.
In related news: In December last year, a woman based out of Kentucky has shared how her Apple Watch saved her and her baby’s life. Veronica Williams, the woman here, said that she was pregnant, and her Apple Watch saved her life after she received a high heart rate notification. This prompted her to contact her doctor and ask for help.
