Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted the company’s future plans for its Augmented Reality (AR) products. The TF Securities analyst, in a research note shared with MacRumours, said that the Cupertino-based giant will release its AR contact lenses in the 2030s, further stating that the lenses will bring electronics from the era of “visible computing” to “invisible computing.”
Kuo said that the AR contact lenses will likely have an independent computing power and storage, further suggesting that it may rely on a connection to an iPhone or another device. Kuo said that there is “no visibility” of the product currently, so this sounds more like a moonshot prediction rather than a guaranteed product. Kuo did not offer any further details about the product. He said that the contact lenses could provide a lightweight augmented reality experience without the need to wear glasses or a headset.

For the “mixed reality” headset and the AR smart glasses also, Kuo said that the two products will come with their separate power and storage source.
